In a mirror dimly…when it comes to the things of God we do indeed see, but we do not see all. Our knowledge can be sure, but not complete. The Word reminds us that “The secret things belong to the LORD, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever…” (Deut. 29:29). We do not and cannot know exhaustively, but we can know. And that knowing is what gives us hope…
We are a therapuetic society – we want to share our feelings and vent about this and that. I am amazed at the personal nature of the things that are revealed on talk shows and court shows on TV. Blogland is all about venting and spilling out the most intimate of details in our lives. Myspace, Facebeook, and other sites like them feed into this desire to be known, and to share the deepest needs we face. But it seems to me that we can endlessly lament, but never find hope…we can ceaselessly cry out our complaints, but find no relief, which leaves us with nothing but our bitterness and brokenness.
As Chrstians, we have a hope. We have the security of knowing where and in whose hands our future lies. This hope surpasses understanding – it does not deny the pain we may suffer, but it puts it in perspective in the shadow of the cross.
This blog is about honesty – honesty about life and what we face for sure, but also honesty about the hope we have in Christ in spite of the pain of living in this world. In Him we hope…knowing that, “We are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, beacuse we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure” (1 John 3:2-3).
Grace and peace…and hope.

Love you – everything is going to work out in your favor just watch and see. God has great plans for you my friend.
