A pastor at my church sent me the following link regarding identity:

“To identify oneself as “in Christ” is perhaps the most radical description possible in the sense that no other description goes as deep in articulating the “ground of our being.” According to Galatians 3:28 one’s identity in Christ is more radical or fundamental than race, gender, or class, so much so that “”[t]here is no longer Jew or Greek…slave or free…male and female; for all of you are on in Christ Jesus, being a Christian is not an incidental to our being, then, like being Californian, white, or left-handed. on the contrary, far from being a mere accident or add-on to something already substantial, or union with Christ defines our very being.”
